柏林墙倒塌之后纪念新德国1990年之作。其中“9”和“新”同词源。一如既往的戈达尔式文字游戏。另一平行之线《电影史》的许多片段也出现其中。本片也是引用狂澜：罗西里尼，茂瑙，巴尔涅特，爱森斯坦，黑格尔，里尔克，歌德，卡夫卡...还有就是画面美得无言。
