The Doorman

Philip Purdon is a doorman of the Upper East Side in New York. He works in a fancy building by night. Before being a doorman he was a famous boxer (he won the Golden Gloves in 1968 at Madison Square Garden) but in 1972 he got shot by two drunk police officers in the Bronx. One bullet in the knee and another in the shoulder. It stopped his career and Philip had to find a new job. He worked on little jobs and finally became a doorman. It is the story of a man, on the ring, in his hospital bed or in the lobby of the building who 'kept punching'.
