前往山隘探寻失落的太空船似乎象征着对于历史真实的寻找，影片中有一个段落，即他们初抵山隘时，山隘层叠如同不断翻动的书本，那么，进入山隘的过程也就是寻找失落的历史的过程，打开尘封的记忆之门，昭示遗忘了的真相。
